possible increased risk of cleft lip and palate in babies exposed to Lamictal during pregnancy
The FDA is warning about a possible increased risk of cleft lip and palate in babies exposed to Lamictal during pregnancy.
This is due to a recent report from the North American Antiepileptic Drug (NAAED) Pregnancy Registry.
But the risk seems low...an increase from 0.05% to 0.3% in general to 0.9% in babies exposed to Lamictal (lamotrigine).
